The 30-minute Writer

This is a self-paced online course with pre-recorded lessons. You can do the work at any time that suits you and go at your own pace.

You will get a thorough 1-hour feedback session on your work once during the course and access to a fantastic community of fellow writers.

Flash fiction is the art of writing a story in under 1000 words (usually about 300).

It's an incredibly efficient way to learn how to write, learning that you can then apply to anything you might write in the future.

I will also teach you my method of how to think about rejection, because if you are serious about becoming a published author, rejection is going to happen. It's part of the deal. I can't take that pain away from you, but I can help you develop resilience in the face of it.

• I'm a multi-award-winning, internationally published author of over a dozen books: picture books, non-fiction for middle grade and teens, and books for adults. You name it, I've probably done it! I'm currently working on my second novel.

• Writing is my passion. I teach from my personal experience as an author, and from my heart.

• The publishing industry can be extremely confusing. I'm both traditionally published and self-published, so can offer a healthy perspective on both options - and everything in between!

  Having worked with different publishers in different countries, I will also help you better understand the industry as a whole and help you find the best solutions for yourself and your work.

Yes! This course will help you hone and develop your work, regardless at what stage you are at with your writing. While some of my students are completely new to writing, others have written before. One of them even has a phd in creative writing, and she still found the course and feedback beneficial! It's a really hands-on, practical, no-nonsense course that will support you, no matter where you are along the writing journey.

30 minutes per session. If you sit down to write every day, you will complete the course in 6-8 weeks.

The pace is completely up to you! The sessions are all pre-recorded and ready when you are. Some of my students race through the course in 3 weeks, others take several months to send me their story and book their 1 -1.
